Setting up Facebook’s Conversions API (CAPI) might sound tricky, but it’s easier than you think!

You can connect your GoHighLevel funnels with Facebook to track leads, purchases, and more. Let’s dive into the steps to get you up and running.

If you want the easy button, HelloConversions can have everything set up in 90 seconds, and they offer a free 7-day trial!

Step 0: Creating Your Facebook Pixel and Conversion API Setup

First things first, you’ll need a Facebook Pixel.

Head over to the Meta Business Suite and click on the Events Manager tab. If you don’t have a pixel yet, no worries! Choose to create a new one there too.

Select Web as your data source. Enter the domain of your funnel or website, and make sure you see a green checkmark. This means Facebook can connect to your site.

Choose Meta Pixel and Conversions API when asked how to connect.

Next, pick the events you want to track, like Purchases or Leads. Check the boxes for important customer info like EmailFirst Name, and Last Name. This helps Facebook match events to real people. Review everything, and click Finish! Don’t worry you can always add more events later.

Use Hello Conversions To Monitor & send CAPI events

One of the better ways to set up & monitor your Meta integration to HIgh Level is using HelloConversions

For a super low cost have all of your events managed in one place. Not just Leads, or purchases but all deal pipeline stages.

Go check them out before spending a ton of time if you don’t need to.

Install the Facebook Pixel Code on Your GoHighLevel Funnels and Websites

Now that your pixel is ready, it’s time to add it to your site. In the Events Manager, choose Install Code Manually and copy the pixel code. Jump over to your GoHighLevel account and navigate to your funnel or website.

If you want the pixel on every page, go to the Settings of your funnel or website and paste the code into the Head Tracking Code section. Want it on just one page? Edit that page, click on the code icon, and paste the code in the Header section. Don’t forget to Save your changes!

Generating Access Tokens and Setting Up Custom Values in GoHighLevel

Back in Facebook Events Manager, go to Settings under your pixel. Scroll down and hit Generate Access Token. Copy this token—it’s like a secret handshake between Facebook and GoHighLevel.

In GoHighLevel, go to Settings and then Custom Values. Create a new folder called “Facebook Conversion API”. Add new custom values for your Access Token and Pixel ID (which is the Dataset ID from Facebook). This keeps things organized and makes setup easier.

If you’d like to have a log of all events sent to Meta, HelloConversions is one of the only ways to do that, and it’s just a few dollars a month.

Creating Facebook Conversion API Workflows for Event Tracking

Time to set up the magic!

In GoHighLevel, navigate to Automations and create a new workflow. Choose a trigger, like Order Form Submission, to start the workflow when someone makes a purchase.

Add an action and select Facebook Conversion API. Use the custom values you set up earlier for the Access Token and Pixel ID. Choose the event you want to track, like Purchase, and input any necessary details like the value of the purchase. Save your workflow, and you’re all set!

5. Testing and Verifying Your Conversion API and Pixel Integration

Before you celebrate, let’s make sure everything works. Go to your funnel and make a test purchase. Use test payment details if needed. Complete the checkout process to trigger the event.

In GoHighLevel, check the Execution Logs of your workflow to see if the event was fired. Then, head back to Facebook Events Manager to see if the event shows up there. If it does, high five! You’ve successfully set up CAPI.

Need a detailed log of all events sent to Meta? HelloConversions provides this feature, making tracking a breeze!

Best Practices for Effective and Compliant Conversion Tracking

Remember to handle customer data carefully. Always select necessary customer info like email and name for better tracking but respect privacy rules. Assigning values to leads can help measure how much each lead is worth to you.

Keep your custom values updated. If your product price changes, updating the custom value ensures all your workflows have the right information. And don’t forget to test your setup whenever you make changes to keep everything running smoothly.

Now you can sit back and watch as your Facebook ads become more effective with accurate tracking. Setting up CAPI in minutes is not just possible—it’s a piece of cake!
