Tag You’re It: GTM Gets a Makeover While Looker Charts Get a Glow-Up! – May 12, 2025

Google Tag Manager (GTM):

  • First-Party Mode Gets a Makeover: Say hello to the Google Tag Gateway for Advertisers! This upgrade unlocks client-side AND server-side tag support—talk about a game-changer. Learn more about setting this bad boy up here and here.
  • Bye-Bye, “Suggested” Labels: GTM is streamlining its tag coverage summary. Those pesky “Suggested” labels are gone, replaced by a cleaner, more efficient view. Good riddance, we say!

How To Apply – From the Vision Labs Team 

  1. For small teams it’s a nice quick button click to Cloudflare to have 1st part data on a random page path. But most small teams won’t know how to do this so it missed the mark.
  2. Most large teams should just use server-side tagging. 
  3. Not 100% sure who this is for.
