Introduction
Managing multiple websites under a single brand can be a complex and challenging task.
Our case study focuses on a Global Content Distribution Company that operates numerous websites, similar to a franchise model. This company faced the daunting task of maintaining a consistent and efficient tagging system across 120+ websites, while also keeping track of performance metrics and analytics.
Problem:
The primary challenge faced by the Global Content Distribution Company was managing the tagging and analytics for hundreds of websites under a single brand.
This required a system that could handle large amounts of data while still providing an overarching view of the entire organization’s performance.
The company needed a solution that was scalable, efficient, and able to integrate seamlessly with their existing tools and platforms.
Audit & Methodology:
To address this challenge, we conducted an audit of the company’s existing tagging system and analytics setup. We used a combination of interviews, surveys, and observations to gather information about the company’s current processes and pain points.
Additionally, we analyzed the different tools and platforms used by the company, such as Google Analytics, Heat Mapping Tools, Tag Manager, and Looker Studio.
Findings and Analysis:
The research revealed that the company’s existing tagging system was highly complex and difficult to manage. This was due to the use of multiple Tag Manager accounts, which required updating each website individually whenever changes were needed.
The company’s analytics setup was not providing a holistic view of the organization’s performance, making it difficult to track KPIs and metrics across all websites.
The company needed a more streamlined and centralized tagging system, as well as improved analytics reporting to better understand their overall performance.
Solutions or Recommendations:
We implementation of a single Tag Manager account with built-in logic to handle the tagging needs of all websites. This allows the company to update tags across all sites with ease and reduce the complexity of their tagging system.
Additionally, we have integrated Google Analytics with BigQuery and Looker Studio to create dynamic reports that provide a holistic view of the organization’s performance.
This enables both the admin team and individual sites to access their own KPIs and metrics, while also giving the company a comprehensive understanding of their overall performance.
Conclusion:
By implementing our recommendations, the Global Content Distribution Company was able to streamline its tagging system, improve its analytics reporting, and gain a better understanding of its overall performance.
This company is still a client of ours today & has seen significant growth while allowing internal team members to focus on Monving the metrics & not “Pulling data”
